Who is your Etihad Player
of the Month for January?
Who could forget Micah's performance in the second-half against Manchester United? Or his swashbuckling displays against Liverpool? Or his determination against Tottenham? If there's a better right-back in England right now, suggestions on a postcard. Awesome effort by the stand-in skipper.
In another month, James Milner would be the favourite to land the Player of the Month, but instead he has three or four strong rivals for the honours. Hard-work, industry and team ethics have made Milner a firm favourite with the City fans and his efforts against United and Spurs were, at times, superb. A player whose stature seems to grow each game.
You could argue that Joe Hart was outstanding in every game played in January, but his displays in the Carling Cup semi-final against Liverpool, particularly at Anfield, were exceptional. Hart made stunning saves in every game in January at vital times and has proved why he is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
By his own admission Samir Nasri is yet to fire on all cylinders for the Blues, but there have been flashes of brilliance that deservedly see him as a January nominee. His goal against Spurs was the catalyst for a vital three points and there is much more to come from the talented Frenchman - but has he done enough to land this award?
Does David Silva's consistent levels of genius mean he sometimes slips beneath the radar when the monthly awards are handed out? Five assists in January for the Spanish magician - almost half of the Blues' goals scored last month - and a disguised pass that set up Nasri against Spurs that was sublime - Silva is the player who makes City tick.
